Martin Trachsel has 40+ years international energy company experience in the Exploration and Production, Natural Gas and Trading sectors. Prior to moving to Nigeria he was Vice President Middle East – Gulf for Shell International Gas and Power, where he was responsible for gas business development in the Gulf Region.

In Nigeria he worked for five years as Chief Executive Officer for South Atlantic Petroleum where he managed the Company’s deep offshore Joint Ventures with Total, Petrobras and CNOOC including the massive Akpo and Egina fields, SAPETRO’s 100pct operating position in the Republic of Benin and its acquisition of exploration assets in the Mozambique Channel and Central African Republic.

Prior to joining Cichlid Energy, Martin co-founded and acted as Chief Executive Officer of Dressler Energy & PetroAfrique Oil and Gas Nigeria an indigenous exploration and production company focussed on developing new business opportunities in Nigeria.
